The Mike Says...

Lemon was named after the Cucumis Sativus or Lemon Cucumber. Tradewindsfruit.com has this to say about the plant.

“Baseball sized cucumber variety producing bright lemon yellow colored fruits. Flavor is excellent, a bit sweeter than normal cucumbers. Plants are very easy to grow and do well in areas that have short summers, as fruits mature faster and need less heat to ripen than most cucumbers. Provide support for the growing vines or let trail along the ground. Water regularly. Can be grown in large pots.

Maturity: 60-75 Days

Origin: Exact origin unknown, but probably Russia.”

This, of course, has nothing to do with Lemon's complex flavor, herself. Her mother and Father just thought the name would rub off on her. That was years before she would question the nature of reality.
