Revisions to character: Specializing in provocative dancing, and scantily-clad women entertainment. This also means that I belive the most popular location will end up being the parlor, where everyone can socialize in the company of beautiful intelligent women who don't mind sitting on the arm of our parlorchair and laughing at your smokey jokes.

The bar will have to be behind the counter, lets use the bar backwall as a server hub, where waiters/the girls dish out food from the basement kitchens for the dinners in the main hall, and mix cocktails for the parlor after hours. i'd want an affordable price on a good blass of scotch or brandy, or a local tab to be paid in favors.

The girls will be instructed that they must not let anybody give in to temptation, perhaps a story hiding in a girl deciding to greedily trade money for chance? The heartstrings it would pull in Mis. Lyssa would be interesting to see, her fear of loving them at all lest her mysterywrath hurt them.

The hall and house rooms will be rented out, hotel style, often complimentary for those who've perhaps had too much fun the evening prior. Free shoe shining service and breakfast downstairs was not uncommon.

The shows would be borderline burlesque, very big and showy, more dancing than really anything showing. Perhaps shadowdances would be of nude women...but that's just shadow.

Gossy, The mail mistress sounds wonderful! Great job. <!3

Ok, I know I'm a little late coming in, but as I was reading about all this stuff, I had some good ideas.

There is an public library in town. It's a rectangular building, long side to the street. Windows line the front of it, with a door to the far right end. As you walk in, you notice a counter to your right, facing left to the rest of the library, and an odd looking, mismatched leather couch in front of you. To your left are two long rows of bookshelves, getting dustier and older the farther left you go. Somewhere there is a girl sitting by a book shelf, to engrossed in her book to notice you. As you look back to the counter, you notice a sign by the till, telling you that you get and stamp your own books, and that if you steal, damage, or are late on any books, you will 'join the couch'. There are stairs behind the counter you are not allowed to climb, probably leading to the store owner's living area. You exit the store, hearing the bell chime as you leave.

The library was built way before the 1920s, though the exact date is unknown. It may have been an old meeting building, or someone's home with the walls ripped out, a school, or maybe it was always a library. The owner found it abandoned, with the books already there, and simply added the till, couch, and started living upstairs. No one had told her the history behind the building, if there is even anyone that knows.

And that's all that I got. I was thinking of making the dustier older sections more eerie and creepy the farther you go, maybe a little blood splattered, but I'll leave that up to Grim. You can also place where you like, I don't really care where it goes.

It's a municipal building, so I'll put it near City Hall.

New Map updated and stuff!

O_O We need a place to start putting homes. There are about 20 to 40 people in town...so...10 to 20 homes.

Maybe an Apartment building. Anyone wanna suggest where it would go?

On Bluerow avenue. A row of blue apartments.

Barber shop run by Mr Edmund Achiles Barbarosa Falcheta the third (Falcheta is the Greek name of the old razor they used to shave people). It is a really clean shop. Too clean some people think. Even after the most messy shave and haircut, the shop remains immaculately clean. It has a wide window saying it is a barber shop, a white-red spinning sign, and a trio of singing men right out of it. The men are not locals, and they change in appearance every day.
The barber shop is in the junction of Ravenlov and Blucrow streets.

Mr Falcheta is a man in his early fifties. He has never confided to anyone from where he is from, and his accent is too weird to really be pinpointed to some part of the country, or even the world. He has silver laced black hair, deep black brooding eyes, and a moustache that makes any man jealous. He is chin is always clean shaven, no matter what time of the day is (non has seen him with a stubble, even after pulling all nighters), his clothes are always clean (even after emerging from a river, his clothes were dry and clean), and his hair are always in place. His voice is soft and kind of... hypnotic. He is perfect at his work, and doesn't seem to socialise too much.

Once I start working on the new map (which should be bigger and give more room for stuff) I'll add the Barber Shop in. ^_^ Good stuff. Our little town is becoming neatly complicated. :P

The Police station on Ravenlov Street is a fairly new building, built within the last 5 years after the old one was destroyed mysteriously one night. Though the building is new, it already has an old and disused look about it, caused by the simple lack of law and law enforcement possible in Worlsend. Always, though, some brave soul tries to enforce law and order.

In the station, the floors and most of the counters are covered in a thin film of dust, and already the paint on the walls has begun to peel. The station has a few prison cells in the basement, though they too show distinct signs of rust and age. The inside of the cell nearest the door always seems to have a faint patina of blood covering the floor, and drops occasionally fall from the ceiling. No matter how it's cleaned, the blood never washes away, and prisoners are never held in that particular cell, no matter how full the other cells are.

The current Police Chief (and only officer in the town), Officer Martin Fandrick, struggles to have some impact in town, but spends most of his time cooped up in one of the offices in despair.

Sunset meadows

No one is sure what was once here. What remains is a glorious multicolored field of wildflowers. If one searches for a bit, they may find what remains of foundations long since leveled. To spend time here is not advisable, however. Those few who return from the lure of the meadows' sickly sweet scent and beautiful sunset views tell strange stories of running through an endless meadow while under a never-setting sun that seems not to provide heat. It seems safe to enter at night, and at that time becomes a favorite haunt of those more artistically minded and courageous citizens

- sunset meadows functions as a sort of otherworld, an unchanging and endless landscape into which the unwitting may wander. If the twists in space are insufficient to cause disorientation, the unusually intoxicating pollens given off by oversized and overcolorful petals can drive men to strange behaviors (what fertilizes such plants? Lost travellers?) the only escape is to wander until you stumble upon an exit, or retrace your steps exactly. Even by retracing your steps, there is little guarantee WHEN you step out, and this path of entrance may have been used by the chronologically challenged citizens of worlsend

I imagine that the plants available would be a rather puzzling to any normal botanist, as would their effects if eaten, ect...

It seems a little to pretty to be in worlsend, but every small new England town has its attractions. And the most pleasant things can be the most dangerous...

What do we think?

Not too pretty at all. All good towns have Contrast. After all, doesn't the hollow run down factory with gray walls look a bit weirder right next to the happy-fun-time playground?

Uh...BTW, hi...Ghast...

Update. I've made a larger map for Worlsend, adding two other districts.
The map on the front page is "Elder Town," There's also the Ouro District (rich people's place) and the Dread Wheat district (country side). Elder Town has also grown just slightly.

I'll update the map when I can.

New Map, guys. The OP has been updated, as well.

Image

The old map covered "Elder Town" district. Now there is Dread Wheat, a low income kind of resedential area, and Ouro, a high end area.

You'll also notice the Bones, not a district, but a small area for people to build stuff. You get there via Faustina st.

I'll update building placement later. ^_^

Neat. The lake is a good place for things to come from.

On another note, the meadows might be somewhere just north of ouro. People pay good money for views, but don't want to dirty their feet by being there

Dread wheat, as the poor side of town, is probably the center of cult activity. The theological effects that Worlsend has upon its residents kind of deserve some thought. Does the town have a church? And how wholesome can it be?
